Halloween Swap

 Halloween  Swaps

A swap is a fun exchange of items created by members of a group such as
Art for the Creative Minds yahoo group.  It may be cards or ATC's  4X4 pages, junk journal. the variety of items it endless.  Some swaps are one to one, a single exchange, others are multiples of the same artwork sent to a hostess, who then sorts them out and sends them to the members who are taking part in the swap.
It is exciting receiving the swaps, and seeing each persons interpretation of the swap's theme

This is a Tri-Fold ATC  2 1/2" by 3 1/2 ".  The swap was for a Art for the Creative Minds yahoo group.   The swap was to be to feature Edgar Allen Poe.  I used images from Altered Pages.
I started with a piece of black card stock folded down to measure 2 1/2 X 3 1/2.  The middle image of Poe was layer on the black and then a paper frame was place around it.  The Raven ticket was printed from the internet.  The picture on the left shows  Edgar Allen Poe gravestone.  The raven picture on the right is also from Altered Pages.

These tags are for a Halloween swap for Stamping Scrapping Swapping Democracy.  The tags were a multiple swap.  We sent 8 tags to the hostess and in exchange we will receive 8 different tags.
I cut black card stock to a #8 manilla tag. 6 1/4" by 3 1/8".   The orange layer was cut about 1/4" smaller all around and then the spiderweb piece was cut smaller by another 1/4".  I used a spider web washi tape that I received from a member of another group across the bottom.  I purchased a package of spiders with the angel hair webs from a Dollar tree.  I pulled the angel hair to give the appearance of a webs and then hot glued the spider in the middle.  I use a Halloween sticker to attach the ribbon to the top of each tag.

SteamPunk Cards

Here are two cards that I made for a monthly swap I am in for CST. I used pictures from the collage sheet from Altered Pages #1732. I attached the printed paper to the cardstock and the run it thro the cuttlebut using a Tim Holz folder Cogs and Wheels. I layered the picture on plain cardstock and then attached it to the card. The cog is from swap that I received awhile ago.
The second card uses a picture from the same collage sheet. Again I ran the cardstock thro the cuttlebug after I had layered the printed paper on it. The picture of the wheels and cog that is on the bottom is from clipart.

Sketch Swap Card

Here is a picture of the Sketch Swap card that I made for Just Cards group. The background was made by applying green and gold metalic paint over punchinella. Then I use an antique brown to give it a distressed look. The three pictures are from a steampunk collage page from Altered Pages. I used a strip from a book to make the ribbon and distressed it with the antique brown. The buckle was covered with some of the same paper and was also distressed. The flower was just a strip of the same paper which I twisted as I glued it down to a paper circle which was then attached to the buckle. I hope this is clear enough.

Here is an art piece I created for Gingersnap Creations using packing material. The Background is corrigated cardboard. I used an empty plastic cover from a some buttons that I purchased. The inside is bubblewrap that I coloured with a shiny blue acrylic paint. The scuba girl is from a McDonald's fish sandwich. I braided packing twine and adhered it around the plastic shell. Swap Cards

These are card that I created for Card Swappers. The Thinking of you card uses a collage picture from "White Collage" available from Altered Pages.

This step card was made using pictures from the collage sheet "Antique Sewing" available from Altered Pages. The stamped image of the dress form was from an old rubberstamp that I have.

These are swap cards for the group Just Cards. The Blue Card with the pitcher is called The Delft Technique. You may find it on Splitcoast Stampers. I had difficulty with the tile effect, so I cheated. When I had the lines dry embossed, I put a strip of low tack tape along each one. That way when I stamped the image, the lines were not stamped over. The Mother's Day card uses an image from Altered Pages. I used a piece of material for the corner of Pink, Yellow and Orange card, and highlited it with stickles. The Sketch card uses paper lace and chipboard buttons and a little mesh.

Here is the Victorian Fan that I made for a swap for Art For The Creative Mind. I used a doily and a stick from a foam sponge applicator. The Butterflies are rub ons, Liquid Pearls was used on the middle of each ruffle, gold paint was rubbed on for a little colour and then small 1/2 pearls were added along with ribbon.
