Wednesday, January 30th - 2008
take off more time from my job in the past three weeks
then I did all last year.
I am back to blogging again.
Below are three Swap Cards that I received. The one
with the zebra from an African theme swap is a motion
one. When you pull the ribbon, the zebra moves across
the veld.
The other two are from a gate fold swap and a
tri-colour, red, orange and celery. Love the little
contented bunny. Both are wonderful.
The card with the catface and sunflowers is one that I
did for a Rak.
The background papers are made using PVA glue and then
I rubbed cheap acrylic paints on the, then rubbed on a
gold metalic paint.

Sunday, January 20 - 2008
taken off more time since January 1, 2008 than I did
all last year. My DIL thinks I may have walking
phenumonia. I was supposed to meet friends for coffee
this evening, but has to call it off.
The weather is bitting cold here. No snow, just windy
and very, very cold.
I am posting a picture of a card that I will be
entering in a contest tentatively called 1000 hand
made greeting cards. Please tell me what you think
and be honest. The gold background is wallpaper, the
collage is stamped on handmade background then
coloured in a little then it is layered on handmade
paper. I added gold filigree corners.
I will be entering another one as well. It is a
beautiful profile of my son's Huskey Cross with snow
and trees behind him. I just have to think of the
background I have to make yet. I will post when I
have it completed.

week tomorrow. I hate being ill. I went to work on
Monday, stayed just until 4:00 pm and then went home.
Tuesday, I just called in sick.
My New years resolutios was to learn 1 new
rubberstamping technique or background each week. So far I am
behind 2, gee this is just the second week of January.
I have alot of catching up to do.
I joined Hearts in Touch stamping group as well as two
different PIF group.
Here is a picture of a tri-colored swap I was in, with inky-fun stampers. It was a black, grey, and white swap.

Orson Wells
War of the Worlds
The actual broadcast by the Mercury Theatre on the Air as heard over the Columbia Brodacastins System, Oct 30, 1938. It is an authentic first edition, with nat a word cut. The only down size is, it is on a 78 record.
Now I will have to haunt garage sales and flea markets to find an old record player.
This record will now be put with my Gork statue from The Day the Earth Stood Still, also given to me by my son and the newspaper article about the movie. For my birthday last year Brian, a friend of my son's gave me the dvd War of the Worlds, with Gene Barry. As you can tell I am a old type ScFi lover.
There is a store in Niagara on the Lake, that deals only with old movies. If there is an old movie, be it Video or remade into DVD you will find it there. All the old classics, westerns, etc. If you are down in this area, you have to visit the store. It is off Queen St. in Niagara on the Lake.

This is my first attempt a having a blog. My son Wolf set it up, and now I will try and keep it going.
A friend of mine, Don, said I should have a facebook acct. I belong to a number of rubberstamping groups on the internet and most of the ladies seem to have blogs. So here I am.
I want to start my own business designing greeting cards and ladies accessories. I will post a picture of some of my scarves that I have knit and a pr . of slippers that I did for my mom. I thought this blog would be a great place to get feedback on my work and a few orders wouldn't hurt either.(He, He)
My daughter-in-law creates very impressive calendars and memory books for pets. People send her the pictures of their pets and she incorporates them into calendars. Tori also makes memory books using metal CD cases. I will get Wolf to post a few of the pieces that she has designed. She hope to expand her business into creating gift baskets for pets.
My son is the computer tech in the family. He is also an avid scuba diver (we live in Southern Ontario, Canada) and he went diving New Years Day. Tori (his wife) and I went to watch him and about 30 or more hearty souls go for a dive in the Welland Canal. It wasn't too cold. We only required a portable space heater to keep us warm.
Wolf is also an experienced rought terrain hiker. Sometime I will go with him and Tori. It is fun and
I usually do enjoy myself.
Well enough about me and my family for now. I am off to read for awhile before Desperate Housewives comes on.
